This is a great little song. Nothing really wrong at all.
How about upping the ante during the chorus/power chords section by injecting the vocals with a little more bite. Maybe try standing further from the microphone or cutting the level and singing the lines a little louder. It might give the verse/chorus a little more contrast. I'm no vocalist so a pinch of salt and all that.

It has its own identity and its particular sound, I like the modern rock cut and I enjoyed it
