live can use audiounits and since you are on mac, allow me to suggest to you the incredible mcdsp futzbox.. they have sales often for 50% so if you wait a bit you can get it for $79
mcdsp.com i use it in live with much success. It is an amazing plug in , that everyone should have, in fact it's so good, i hate recommending it cause it's my secret weapon. the bit crusher has that gorgeous crunchy sound from decimort, but it has so much more to offer as you can replicate a distortion environment , kind of like an algorithmic speakerphone (no latency to top it off) Also i urge you to look at audiodamage dr device for the bit crushing part as nothing else on the market has that sound.. you can combine that with the reducer of decimort or mcdsp and be in crush heaven., The live one just doesn't sound very good sorry to say, it's not "crunchy and funky" enough. ---- Upping my count for Kingston |

That's the idea behind live's effects. They're just building blocks. If you want filters etc. like the others just put it in a rack and add a filter. But yeah, sometimes it's easier to take something somebody else already set up for you. |
