Yeah like I said, Trilian loves memory, Diva loves CPU :)I think I would trade off not being able to use Synth1 for the freedom to use Diva without constraints

Regarding memory though, my host Studio One seems to have some issues with Synthedit plugins, it seems to take more memory than Reaper to run these, so even for my 32 bit plugins I need more RAM. Maybe that is S1's fault but still, it is my reality.

·Apollo (Raw basslines)
·Odo Double Six XXL (One of the best free FM synths)
·Psychic Modulation Aethereal (Moving textures and ambience sounds)

·Drumatic 3 (Powerful drumsynth)
·Odo DR Fusion 2 (Versatile drumsynth with lots of sounds)

And forgetting some others which are nice. Never had a problem with these.
Personally, my favourites from my own list, or maybe which i use most are:

Only real criteria is they must be 64 bit

this is a bit of a boring limitation to inflict on this topic.
and it is depressing to think that getting a 64bit system will
immediately write off all the old plugins. wdf is so great about
64bit when you can make decent sounds with 32bit? if 64bit can't
deal with 32bit plugins then it is worthless. i MUST be getting this
wrong, right? please tell me 64bit can deal with 32bit.

oh...The Scroo...excellent plugin from Fullbucket, again, top man.
(not caring if it had a 64bit version). Monofury also excellent.

That's got to be Studio One's fault.....and you can kiss all your Synth Edit plugins goodbye at least for a while as I don't think the version that will export 64 bit is even in Beta....
The point is that those plugins won't use less memory in 64Bit you'll just be able to access more system Ram. I'm not trying to dissuade from upgrading your system and I suppose it won't be too long before I'm right behind you but that's why I haven't even bothered with 64 bit so far...3 gigs has been enough up to this point and the Q6600 has been able to handle everything but Diva in Divine Mode (have you tried the new version I think it's supposed to be 40% more efficient?) Although my Mother is already on Win 7 and that's a bit embarrassing to be behind your Mum on the technology scale..........

SyhthEdit plugins wont use less ram in 64 bit, they may even use more bridged, but they will have more to work with. Trilian alone likes half of my 4gb for itself and that is without using round robins and multiple instruments. At 4gb it is a pain sometimes, but if I have 16 it wont matter much.

Anyhow if this is a boring topic, you must really be bored yourself (or boring maybe?) if you post in it. and I know 64 is maybe a premature constraint just I will be there soon so that was my arbitrary criteria, sorry if it doesn't apply to everyone.

You can still run 32 bit plugins in a fully 64 bit environment. You only lose that as a self-imposed restriction, haha.

I thought that's why we were eliminating 32 bit plugs from the equation in the first place......(most likely all S.E. plugins will be 32 bit for the foreseeable future)......

But anyway I don't use plugins that require huge amounts of memory or I would have gone 64 bit long ago I'm sure........

My first computer had 2 K memory so I'm easily impressed by my 3 Gigs now.......

Yep! But it's free since some months (years?) now and it will stay free until the end of the year iirc

of ones that I believe have come out more recently Id immediately say Bazille, Z-Lette, and Alchemy Player. Classics are Oatmeal, SQ8L, Crystal, and Tyrell is just simply beast.
