the current detune/octave switch midi assignment implementation doesn't make any sense to me.

i don't mind the detuning knob also sweeping through the octaves(could be nifty if implemented right).....but it is essential first of all to have the detune value controlled precisely like other controls and not by 0.38 intervals or it becomes damn useless to control it from a midi controller .
the detune amount of 2 oscillators is critical (think about a brass etc).....it needs to be accurate....as it is now it simply cannot be used with any normal midi controller.

by logic and common sense the priority should be first to have the tuning being controlled smoothly.....and the sweeping through octaves something that might be worthwhile adding later but only once a midi solution that works fine for most controllers is found.

on the original analog synths u cannot sweep seamlessly through multiple octaves (just switch through them)...but you can indeed control the detune amount precisely....needless to say that's where the priority should be!
to accomodate a feature which the originals didn't even have it screwed the accurate midi control of the detune. that can't be right.

Urs said a new midi revamp for Diva will come in some months...but imo this is something that should be really fixed asap in first coming patch.

Aren't you using the SHIFT key on your computer for fine control? Or am I misunderstanding your post (in my rush to get out of the house)?

You can Midilearn octaves and semitones independently, and they'll work just like the knobs. It's in the manual...

All that's missing from the final implementation is maybe a "pick up" mode for values and an editable list of assignments.
