What's the process it takes? I'm working on a bootleg mix of Dirty South's We Are, and without controlling the acapella, its quite hard. Can anyone help me here?

Thanks, and every idea will be appreciated!

It's very hard and the results are usually useless. I even have Izotope Vical Remover that came with Sound Forge and it will filter either music or vocal and it doesn't work so well. The process is to take the song and the instrumental and match them exactly and in theory if you /invert the phase of the track with the vocal it will lose the instrumentation. One hitch: you get horrible filtering artifacts in the vocal and they can sound like they are sung through a tin can.

The issue with tin can sound is not something you get with the inverse trick. This artifact appears when you try to get rid of the noise with noise reduction processing.
Sometimes you can get good results with this technique, especially if you high pass the vocals and build your music around the noise.

It cannot be done in the way that people who want to do it think it can be done.

Then that gives me no choice but to work harder with the original track. Thanks a lot guys!
