Hey there,
I came across software by Redmatica - GBSamplerManager - that allows you to copy EXS/garageband sampler instruments to/from the iPad. Unfortunately it seems the app has been pulled from the App Store after Apple acquired the company.
Is there any other way to do this? Did anybody manage to buy GBSamplerManager while it was still available?

I purchased GBSamplerManager just before it disappeared but to be honest I was not that impressed. The version from the app store was pretty basic and you really needed to purchase Keymap to get descent editing features. If all you want do is copy instruments to your iDevice, then (if it is jailbroken) you can do this with iFile and if not, iExplorer should also let you transfer the files.

I bought this and, although it is not the most straightforward application ever, it works well! Basically, you have to export the Garageband song to your computer, apply the patch with the program (in order to substitute a former instrument with our own), and copy it back to the iPad.

Where can I get a copy of the program? Any ideas?

I am certain that Apple will be building this functionality into the iPad version of GB when they release the iPad5 (or possibly the iPad6). Just be patient...thehickstar wrote:Morph243 wrote:I bought this and, although it is not the most straightforward application ever, it works well! I have just tried iExplorer to transfer the files. With my iPod Touch connected to my Mac I used iExplorer to navigate to iPod/Apps/Garageband/Library/Application Support/Instrument library/Media/Sampler. Inside this folder you will find a "Sampler Instruments" and a "Sampler Files" folder (you can bookmark these folders with iExplorer). If you copy EXS files to the "Sampler Instruments" folder and associated samples to the "Sampler Files" folder, these instruments will appear in the Sampler in iOS Garageband and can be used in any Garageband project. I would try instruments that don't use too many samples to start with. No Jailbreak required. If you know what you are doing give it a try - all at your own risk of course! I was surprised to see that multi-sampled Instruments and velocity layering appears to work to some extent in the Garageband sampler.

Any way of getting GBSamplerManager still?
Thanks!

Mister

I tried to contact the programmer, to see if there's any hindrance concerning the copy of this program, but I'm still waiting for his answer. In case he doesn't respond, my guess is that he doesn't care...mrpolobrown wrote:Hi Calum,

Hi Morph,
Are you talking about me
, if so, I don't have any private messages in my inbox (via this website). You can contact me directly though, at
mrpolobrown @ yahoo . com
Also, to both Calum and Morph,
I used iExplorer and it worked. But, I have only brought over three instruments so far, the 808, 909 (drum sounds), and the Electric Grand Piano. For every one of these, the sounds work in Garageband (ipad), but I get the following error when switching to them
"filter needs to be disabled in instrument" and the sounds are much lower than other instruments. Is there a way I can change this, or do something in Logic, before bringing the sample/instument over?
Thanks!

Morph,
Thanks a million!
Have you used iExplorer? If so, have you run into the issues I have stated above? If so, any resolution or recommendations? Thanks!
I OWE YOU BIG TIME!
