Actually although I don't think that the Queen will care too much about this song (nor ever has), I'm not sure that I agree with Danny Boyle's choice at this particular showcase event. I'm no great fan of the Royals, but the Queen is one of the few who I respect and I think that many people around the world also respect her. So on one hand, it shows how open (and rebellious?) Great Britain is in front of the world, but on the other it might raise some rather confused looks as to British people and their attitude towards the Queen. Then again, maybe we're all just having fun and nobody gives a shit. I'm sure that Underworld will play a blinder, and I'm looking forward to Danny Boyle's countryside antics too. |

I remember reading somewhere that Steve Jones said that John Lydon enjoyed hearing Pretty Vacant on the radio because he deliberately sung "vacant" as "va-c**t" so that he could say "c**t" on the radio |
