You are such a good sport. Hope the weather holds out like it is today for the lot of those involved (instead of drizzle and grey skies)

She ain't no human being...
Actually although I don't think that the Queen will care too much about this song (nor ever has), I'm not sure that I agree with Danny Boyle's choice at this particular showcase event.
I'm no great fan of the Royals, but the Queen is one of the few who I respect and I think that many people around the world also respect her.
So on one hand, it shows how open (and rebellious?) Great Britain is in front of the world, but on the other it might raise some rather confused looks as to British people and their attitude towards the Queen.
Then again, maybe we're all just having fun and nobody gives a shit.
I'm sure that Underworld will play a blinder, and I'm looking forward to Danny Boyle's countryside antics too.

god save the queen s only one song on a list of 86 that have been put forward as possibles. its a list of musc by british artists, everything from pop to punk and much much more lol, its just a way to show off the culture of this proud nation
a broad spectrum of music, mixed by underworld, i dont think anyone takes the lyrics of gstq too seriously, not even john lydon. and we have to remember the state of the nation at the time of its original release.
there are of course other pistols anthems that could be used, pretty vacant or holidays in the sun for example?
although id like to hear EMI played on such an event as that is more or les still applicable and an audience of billions would hear it lol

I remember reading somewhere that Steve Jones said that John Lydon enjoyed hearing Pretty Vacant on the radio because he deliberately sung "vacant" as "va-c**t" so that he could say "c**t" on the radiovurt wrote:there are of course other pistols anthems that could be used, pretty vacant or holidays in the sun for example?
