Hi.
I just made this a few days ago in Ableton Live Akai edition. http://soundcloud.com/codex_pert/tangiers Even though you are limited to four VST, I rendered down. This is what I used if anyone may be interested: Attack, Geist (CoDB expander), FM7, Harmless, RMV, Albino and TB Isone. I was cockahoop to find out that the Guru expander City of Drums and Beats had been 'ported' to Geist. So I loaded it up and gave it a spin. This is a really under-rated expander in my opinion. Yes, it is very Hip Hop specific. No, it won't make you sound like Metallica. Anyway, the real revelation here, or, I should say, 'revolution' is the TB Isone plugin I bought the other day. In fact, I did this mix before buying the plugin. Thanks Jeroen for letting us test in this way. It not only sold me the plug in, but I am going to buy your whole pack in a couple of weeks time when I have the cash. Check out this thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/473885/isone-pro-the-best-thing-you -could-ever-get-for-your-headphones-on-your-computer Started by our very own good KVR friend Lunatique. Not only is this man an artist of the highest order (I remember him from his much viewed teachings over at CGTALK, where he is heralded as a God, and quite rightly so imho), but he is no slouch when it comes to sound design - have you checked his synth1 presets? http://rekkerd.org/patches/sound-designer/lunatique/ He also is a top-notch human being. But we will just leave it at that for now. Except to say, he has one little problem. A dirty, not-so-secret habit that he flagrantly shares with the whole world. He spends far too much on headphones. Whether he sees this as a problem or not, I have not asked him. But suffice to say: his little habit is our blessing. This is a man that test drives headphones at a level only a few of us would dare, even if we had the cash. Check out that thread if you want to know more. I will just say that this man has given his not inconsiderable knowledge on the matters of Art an Sound for free, and I have learned a boat load from him. Ok. One last word. If you like that track and want to remix it, there is a competition going over at the Energy XT forum. You can win a copy of XT2 and Wusikstation, plus sounds. http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=342446 Skip to the last post, all the details are there. Look forward to your feedback........... ---- "I guess once a junkie, always a junkie." - Bruce Swedien. |
