iDisignSound Website is VERY slowwww...

Hello iDesignSound,

Is there any particular reason why iDesign website is so VERRRYYY SSSLLOWWW (loading it takes FOREVER)) .......?!
Also, updating of apps is way behind iOSMUSICIAN.com... time difference, or Is there other problem of sorts perhaps?
Please fix it regardless (if possible), as iDesign is really fantastic (#1 in my books) website for iOS devices...

It's a bit slow here too but not a lot. I guess it's due the site not being optimized enough.

I think the webmaster could simplify the panels to get more speed. I don't think a page that full is mandatory for the landing url at least.

Hi Leslie,

Yes, the site isn't as fast as I'd like. Trouble is I'm on a 30Mb connection so it all seems okay to me. Pages are not instant but they do load in a few seconds. But I do notice when I'm forced to use someones 2Mb connection that it's not the fastest site.

It will be slower than a simple blog because it has far more going on behind the scenes. Also, it is not hosted by a big company (Blogger, Wordpress etc.) on their fast servers. I still think it could be faster. I've tried a few things today (in response to this thread) that might help things although if you're on a slow connection and/or a slow machine then it may still not help you much.

I'm pretty sure that it is the website itself that is slow and not the server because my wife also has a website hosted on my server and it is lightning fast (for me anyway!). It is far less dynamic than iDesignSound though which is probably the reason why.

The site is a phenomenal resource and gives a lot of great information while still providing a good sense of community -- it's a lot like KVR in that respect (but it's easier to find what you're looking for on iDesignSound ). I've only been an iOS musician for a little over a month, but I've already made it a habit to check iDS several times a day for updates. Keep up the great work!

We've just upgraded our server (for the fourth time since launch a year ago) so I'm hoping you'll see some improvements , both in terms of speed and less crashes
