The basic thing with effects is that they mustn't change the sound beyond recognition as is written in the rules, so even some degree of distortion is allowed. I know it's possible to simulate chorus or phasing with delays and EQ and there is no specific rule against that so it's only the 'beyond recognition' that applies. Remember even some modulation effect is actually allowed as long as it's a secondary effect in another type of effect, so all in all I know the modulation effect rule is maybe slightly moot, but it makes some sense and anyway what the majority wanted last rules vote.
@___loser: For best SoundCloud quality, leave about 3db headroom in the mix (don't max out the level), and upload in uncompressed wav of aif.

And I feel bad posting this after such news, but I am new to the OSC and had a question about the prizes:
Are the prizes already assigned (i.e. 1st place gets prize "A", etc) or does 1st place get first pick, and so on?
I've kept an eye on the competition for a while but never entered (almost did a few years ago).
I'll have some free time this week and hopefully I'll be able to put together an entry.

Maybè it would be good to make a song just to express your feelings , i remember
doing this years ago when my father past away .
