As title, please, to record the following:
Mic, Midi keyboard, Electro Acoustic & electric guitars. pretty basic stuff !
Purely home use into A PC with Win 7 onboard HD Via sound and M-audio24/96 card, ASIO4all drivers installed
Budget up to £150, must be low noise and low latency .
It will be just me recording using any of the above instruments, so no multiple inputs needed.
There seems to be so may around but on my searching I found these that look suitable
http://www.northeastguitar.co.uk/alesis ... re=default
http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/4 ... rface.html
any views on these or other recs etc ?
Many thanks

There's the perfect thing for you, low budget and professional level also comes with original cubase
It's Steinberg CI2

That Alesis one is supposed to be rubbish (bad drivers and badly made) and the Tascam one is pretty old hat as well.
The NI Komplete Audio 6 is very good for around your budget.

pretty happy with my presonus audiobox 22 vsl. not many inputs, however it comes with some nice VERY basic efx for recording, and some nice presets as well.

Whilst slightly above your budget out of everything we've tested under the £200 pricepoint, I'd go with this if I was having to choose currently.

Just noticed you have the maudio 2496 card; why not continue using it with a small mixer?
I'd still be using mine if my computer had a pci slot..and why asio4all instead of the maudio driver?

I'm trying to get rid of as many boxes , cables, power supplies etc as possible.
A small unit using USB for its power seems to address most of those problems.
I have USB devices, XLR, guitars, acoustic and electro acoustic and am sick of always changing my input/output set up to record anything in Cubase and other DAWs that i;ve tried out.
ASIO4all was just another attempt to try and get all things working without too much hassle
This one device on the face of it seems to solve all my problems in one go.
I'm sure I'll be proven wrong somewhere with my logic though !

The 2 sound cards you listed way above are pretty cheap.
I would stay away.
I used to have an NI AK-1, bought second hand for less then 100 quid.
Excellent sound and quality.
But I did not like the routing and decided that the best in quality, price, etc was RME. I got 9632 PCI card. I am not even using 1/2 of ins/outs.
It is a fantastic sound card and I got it for 150euros, second hand.
It is really worth the money, great software, DSP Mixer, breakout cables, etc.
For a PCI sound card, the RME 9632 is hard to beat
I run W-7 64bit

I personally wouldn't go for NI, I mean I have tried our their stuff nothing speciall to be honest and the thing that I find a massive down grade is that there no bloody support..
But then again it's my own opinion
.
Another AMAZING sound card with low budget is Focusrite Scarlett 2i2, fantastic little baby am actually going to buy it for my laptop, honestly am surprised what it can do.
Here check it out:
And also another top quallity sound card, abit more expensive but totally worth it is AVID mBox Pro.
Wich also comes with a full version of sick Pro Tools 10 if you throw extra €20, and I recommend pro tools to everyone!

have you looked at Roland's Audio Interfaces? They should fit your budget and are great

I have 4 interfaces - I love my FOCUSRITE Sapphire USB.
Now the proud owner of an avid 11 Rack, Running Pro Tools 10.3.3 - for me it's heaven!

Indeed, you may want to have a closer look at the Roland Edirol UA25EX.
When you've got a desktop, USB can be handy as plugging cables into the backside can be a nuisance.
It's also a good idea to visit the candidate's manufacturer's forums because there you can read about eventual problems.
