music by me, lyrics by deadmau5

The machines have taken over music.....Lovely rant at the start, Anyone can make music. Good collaboration!_!
:)

thanks, not my rant tho, it's deadmau5 infamous we all hit play rant
i'm on the opposite side, i perform live improvised music all the time, i consider performing to be an art, not just a mean of selling albums

It doesnt matter if someone prepared a set
in 10000 or 1 hour and if people enjoy it or not.
When you make what you make because you like it
then you pretty much succeeded in my book.
Anyone who dislikes it has plenty of choice left
for other stuff. I personaly seldom go to see electronic acts.
There has to be a pretty good show build around it
to make me enjoy it.

I'd love to sell just 1 copy of any of my albums. Can't do live. I just paint pretty pictures on my drum machine and play the results through my speakers

Yeah, I suppose it is....though I seem to be on a permanent quest for recognition and scour the net for my download figures.....Och well, it's a hobby.

recognition is not all its cracked up to be, people then have expectations, your future output is effected by other people then :boo!: the only recognition you need is your own!!! f**k listeners!
:ud:

I see recognition as an emotional reward: if other people like it then it'll give me the incentive to make more.. I also take criticism. The listeners are who the music is for but when I am in the midst of its creation there is no one there but me.... Hope that makes sense..

of course, we all have different reasons for doing what we do :)
so long as youre happy when you are creating, and yes it gets stressful sometimes but we keep going, then thats great.

do you have a link? im intrested in hearing your music, i like the approach you take of the painting pictures rather than worrying about whther its right by accepted musical standards. i like different approaches and individuality as thats what art is to me, doing your thing!

good luck with your musical future and remember the most important thing is you are having fun :)
