Had a disasterous attempt at switching my host and plugs to 64 bit and had to do some work on my computer getting back to 32 bit. Now my "soft elicenser" is deactivated and will not authorize Spark or repair my soft elicenser. I can not get to any of my programs or save any new music. Arturia support is closed and it is now the weekend. I am so pissed. I finally have time to finish some products and my main drum machine is useless.

Nice copy protection. Maybe a rep from Arturia will see this and help me out...

Actually this really sucks.

I can also add that the 64 bit bridge in Sonar X1 sucks ass.

Actually, it wasn't too bad when I was using it (very plugin dependent) I'll not mention that host that had the best bridge

(though I'm 100% x64 now)

Too bad.
That's why I prefer dongles.
Can you (for the next time) move your soft-elicneser license to a dongle? This is possible with some Steinberg products.

Yeah... I don't have a dongle right now because I just bought the download. First time eLicenser user.

I'm going to definitely buy a dongle after this episode so I can transfer the license off my computer before I mess with it.

Oh, I've been there. I have an ilok (with some expensive unused toys

)and I have had the elicenser. I made a decision not install anything dongle when I went x64. It's a choice, not a religion.

Software licensing can be such a pain in the balls.

I threw my own little temper tantrum just the other day when I went to launch Propellerheads Recycle. It asked me to insert the original disk for proof of purchase. NOW THAT WAS A BUZZ KILL.

I was nowhere near my apartment where the disk is kept... what am I supposed to walk around with that disk in my pocket for over a decade "just in case"?

A simple rule:
first make sure everything works flawlessly on your machine.
then make plans for music making weekends.

Or,
simply keep alternative setups. In the hardware world these would be different studios, so if one studio burns down, you just move to some of the others and rebuild the first one later.

There's no copy protection scheme that ever benefits those who pay. By design, it punishes those who pay in a world where it is optional most of the time. Frustrating times. Some day they will figure it out....I hope.

It always blows when you plan for a big fun time. I always make sure NOT to risk it with any "upgrades" just as if it were a big session.

I've found that the most effective way to keep my workstation 'stable'
if anything goes wrong just do a reimage and you're back in business within 15 minutes

I feel your pain OP.

On a slight side-note, I just bought Klanghelm DC8C which comes with NO copy protection. Warms my soul, it does.
