Definitely. He's another great developer!Compyfox wrote:Klanghelm's tool is still worth it though, since you get a PPM and VU in one, 4 built in skins, input gain, reference level shift and ballistics contol.heffus wrote:I was about to pull the trigger on the Klanghelm one.
I'm cool with both tools.
Are you talking about the version of dBVU with the mono-collapse switch? (I'm terrible with names.. let alone screen names..sorry!)glasgene wrote:Great tools, great guy (he even made a bespoke version of a plug for me) a massive thanks for this Dustin
If so, you can do the same in StereoChannel by muting the "side" signal
That's ok. I mainly use them for tracking and before going into things like StripBus/Roundtone.@midnight wrote:pretty cool i just dont know why i would need it

But if it's not for you, no worries
It's been a busy week. I'm going to try and get more work done on these plugins this weekend.
Thanks, everyone.

Is there a chance for a smoother needle movement ?
Professional technicians are assessed by the abilities they possess.
Amateur technicians are assessed by the tools they possess - and the amount of those tools, with an obvious preference to the latest hyped ones.

Hopefully. Last night I changed the way the needle is drawn on the screen and adjusted some other graphic-related things. After a quick test, it seems to be looking a little smoother.Tp3 wrote:Is there a chance for a smoother needle movement ?
Thankfully, it's the weekend and I'll have time to really dig into this again.

For those of you using Norton Anti-Virus and experiencing false-positives:
I just reported StereoChannel.dll to Norton as a false-positive. I should be receiving an email from them within 2 business days. Hopefully this issue will be resolved quickly!
Thanks pals,
-Dustin

They're explained in the manual:heffus wrote:I'm really digging Stereo Channel and find it quite useful. Can anyone explain the polarity and center x-over features? What do they do?
- Use the Center X-Over to maintain a solid low-end.
This control will cause any audio below the set frequency to move to the center while leaving the audio above the set frequency untouched. This is great for keeping tight, mono-compatible drums and bass sounds while allowing the higher frequencies to maintain their stereo spread.
- Use the Polarity buttons to find the best sound
This setting will rotate the polarity (or phase) of your signal 180 degrees. This can be used to enhance sounds recorded with multiple microphones.

I would like to be able to use it but my PC Tools Antivirus insists that it's infected and promptly removes it.

I use eSet NOD32. Way less false positives than other software. No issues with MonoChannel or StereoChannel. I've been using it for a year now and zero infections. Before then...I can't say the same thing.Integratron wrote:I would like to be able to use it but my PC Tools Antivirus insists that it's infected and promptly removes it.

Once a false positive is identified it's best once the dev knows, to pester the crap out of the AV company (Norton) to speed up the process. They never listen normally.
Same problem with the themida installers. They still flag false positives.
