Is there an app that will allow me to record what I hear on my iPad (ie to sample movies)?
"I was wondering if you'd like to try Magic Mushrooms"
"Oooh I dont know. Sounds a bit scary"
"It's not scary. You just lose a sense of who you are and all that sh!t"

I think I read that sort of thing will be possible with ios6, so maybe not yet.
Don't quote me on that tho

Sorry but maybe I'm misreading the OP but it does have a microphone so it can "record what you hear" already, plus you can add a better external microphone (there are plenty on the market) or line-in via an audio interface such as this:

or iRig or the Tascam US3.
I'm not sure if any of these record in stereo though.
I thought the audiobus thing was just a way of routing audio between apps (better than the limited copy/paste with several different versions and no consistency)

He's asking for an app being able to record whatever sound played on the iPad. From other apps, internet a movie or all three together.
What they call inter-app Audio in ios 6 and we know as the futur Audiobus.
Or maybe I misunderstood the question?

Thats not possible, since an app cannot know what another app is producing.
That would open up all osrt of security concerns.

Virtual MIDI can be captured from other apps, thats the idea of it. Would be cool if Apple did the same for audio.shanecgriffo wrote:What about virtual/core midi?
