Yeah, well, the delay is attributed to Diva - she's been more demanding on us than we expected Wink

It might have been possible for us to meet the initial RE deadline, but not with fully compliant REs. There are certain aspects to the graphics specs and code restrictions that we want to get right from the start, not in subsequent updates. I don't know how much of a secret things still are, so let's just say that my 3D modeling skills didn't get me there in the time that I could afford to invest. Hence we've outsourced some work which is an ongoing process.

Did you just confirm that we will see Diva in Reason (hopefully) soon??? Please say YES! Smile)

Hehehe, not quite. We spent 4 more months on Diva than we expected, for the VST/AU version Embarassed

We'll certainly do a synth once we have Uhbiks out to RE and if it works out as expected (low maintenance and stuff)

True but I suspect the urge to ReTyrell (puns galore) may be unstoppable.

Well, we had the gui layout redone and 3D models designed to specs. We also changed thousands of lines of code to separate some optimisations from VST/AU out of the RE layer. Our framework caters for complex plugins, and that's a hinderance for RE. It's solved (hopefully) but it took time.

That's all good, but it turns out that small text and pseudo-3D elements from the photoshop file looks really awkward in RE. So I have to cut down the design again to textures used in 3D programs with separate channels for this and that. I might as well hire a 3D artist who can come in to do it with me.

I must say that the early SDK was easy to use and easy to work with. The final SDK forces us to do some tedious steps that we are not used to. Specially because my 3D experience is quite rusty Neutral

We'll be getting there, but due to the unforeseen problems I have no estimate at all, as we have to prepare a bunch of urgent releases (Mountain Lion) from now on. We might have to shift further work on RE back a month or two.

the original sdk was a beta that hadn't quite had all features. In many ways it was easier to work with.

Mountain Lion by default needs "code signing". Which is good. It keeps malware and cracks out. However, all apps need to be code signed (anything in App Store is, anything not in App Store has to be signed by the dev). We'll do that within two weeks or so.

You can still run non-signed apps/plugs, but you have to lower the security settings.

Dang. Super sorry to hear that. Ubhiks are #1 on my list of plugins because I know they will allow for modular mayhem in Reason. I know you guys have been pulled by the cheek a bit (possibly a lot) on this SDK, but that's the standard procedure for early adopters, in my experience. Generally a moving target for awhile. I know just about the entire Reason community that discusses RE's is waiting anxiously for your products.

Looking forward to the day they drop.

Yes, I was just very depressed the other day because of the unexpected obstacles.

I'm currently absorbed by the Dark Zebra soundset, but our 3D guru is on the case. In a week or two we should have at least one Uhbik in a shape that we can send to Props for beta testing. Once that's done, the others will follow quickly.
