Think they would offer that path from K5? Dear Santa... It's that price for upgrades to Komplete 8 from anything between Komplete 2 and Komplete 7. $114.50/99,50 Euro. ---- "Be excellent to each other." I think three times I had it go into "continuous never-ending auto-update" mode and I had to kill it and do an offline auth, but that wasn't hard, just led to some cursing and took an extra minute or two. It's now worse than mentioning that "other" host @auth system: Hmmmmmmmmmm. I don't even have a bluray drive for my PC.. but I'd buy one if they'd offer Komplete on this medium.
50 Gigabyte dual layer Bluray disks > 8.5 Gigabyte dual layer DVDs 8 Ultimate comes on a USB HDD, so no disk flipping. Yes, but Regular Komplete (no-so-Komplete) does not. And I trust mechanical hard drives LESS than I trust commercially pressed disks. ---- "Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke |

I'm looking forward to upgrading my Komplete 7 to Komplete 9 this time next year. The half off sale is pretty much the only way I can afford to stay modern. Sooo thankful Native Instruments hold these sales! Hopefully we'll get Battery 4 with a super topmodern, crisp, punchy sample set. It is long past due. An Absynth and perhaps a Massive whole version update would be beneficial too. If anything, I'd really like to see GUI updates that allow one to drag and increase/decrease the gui size.. and not just the window size but scale the controls too I'm tempted to upgrade my Geist lite just for the sample set. I really enjoy the one that comes with the lite edition.. suspect it's more of the same with the full version. ---- "Use the talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except the best." - Henry Van Dyke Last edited by VitaminD on Mon Jul 09, 2012 6:46 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Just looked at the chart and in fact it would mostly be Kontakt 5 I would be getting in K8 standard. GR5 might be semi-interesting but I'm not a big GR guy. I already have almost everything else.
Still would be nice to snatch it up at that price, but it would be a lot of wasted packaging for things like the pianos I have already, etc. ---- Yes! |

Truth is it was the FURTHEST thing from my mind to be buying Komplete again anytime soon. I'm mostly just jonsing for Kontakt 5 because I'm stuck with 3.5 full and the players and 3.5 not only won't run many great libraries, but it's buggy (main bug being corrupted multi files and the GUI is as fast as tar to open--K5 is lightning fast). I missed the half price sale, though.
I was a bit disappointed looking at the list of included stuff---not that you don't get an amazing value for $115, but I was hoping for some more excitement in the included instruments for Kontakt. Not that much going on there, really, in the standard K8. But already having the free updates to all the instruments other than GR and Kontakt, I can't really justify buying all that stuff again. Maybe if it was all DL and I could just skip the stuff I didn't need, but I don't want a huge box of disks and manuals, 80% of which I don't need. I think I'm going to wait and see what Kontakt 6 has in store. A friend online said he thinks it's going to be integrated with a Battery update. ---- Yes! |
