Oooh that's a good rumour that has the ring of truth about it. Battery 3 is a dinosaur at this point, and NI have integrated midi drum files and a lot of other goodies into the Kontakt platform. They're clearly trying to fold everything into the Kontakt / Reaktor / Guitar Rig platforms, so the idea that Battery 4 would be a player library is a solid idea.Uncle E wrote:I've heard the same thing. Personally, I love the idea, simply because I use Kontakt so much these days and it would actually simplify my life to have Battery integrated. That said, the wisest thing in my mind is NI to do both, keep Battery 3 around as a separate product AND integrate it into Kontakt.VitaminD wrote:A.M. I hope not.
If Battery is becoming integrated into Kontakt then I'm sticking with Komplete 7 and Battery 3. Or will just buy Geist. I use B3 because its relatively lightweight and to-the-point at what it does. Adding it to Kontakt will just add another level of kludgeyness. ugh.
In fact, perhaps the Battery name will go completely, and they will roll some of that library into an expanded Maschine Selection product, and keep that badge for all thier beats (as opposed to their drums).
One other prediction - a rebadge of Guitar Rig as a platform, it makes no sense at all if using Reflektor / The Finger etc. Just keep the Guitar Rig name for that particular product.
