Hi guys

I have S1 and I am certain it's buggy. Just this morning I had Corona on one track and Geist on the other.

I loaded Tokyo Dawns compressor on the Geist track and Corona started sounding modulated.

I know all the effects a compressed signal may have on the perception of your other instruments but there is nothing of the sort going on here. This was clearly some kind of phasing issue that it was playing with.

I exported my mix without TDR and then I was going to export it with TDR so I could record this behaviour but it stopped doing it after the first export.

There are lots of little funny things like this that It does.

Anyone else swith DAWS because of glitchy behaviour and to what?

What is your most reliable DAW?

My most bug free DAW probably would be Garageband '08 on a PPC Mac.

That being said, REAPER 4 is my most useful DAW--even if some of the VSTs can be buggy at times (which may be an interaction between a particular VST and REAPER causing a REAPER crash, as compared to being a REAPER bug).

Are you sure the problem isn't with TDR?

I guess it could be but I've had enough problems with S1 in all kinds of situations to do with synths. Hanging notes, phase issues.

I don't know enough about it all though.

Edit- Sure enough its happening again. TDR is making Corona act strange.

I saw the thread and was going to reply with S1 among others...

I think the plugin is your issue.

That said, there's so many things involved for a "bug free experience". The closest you could get on most setups would probably be Reason, but even Reason has issues. Next closest in my experience is probably S1 and PT10, both of which have bugs, but in my experience they have the fewest critical bugs. I know plenty of people who have issues with all 3 of those suggestions though.

Everything else will come down to selecting reliable plugins in a DAW that has a known-issues list.

p.s. you're now going to get a plethora of people saying "X works for me!" followed by "No, X crashes on my all the time! I use Y and it's perfect!"

Although it's not quite a DAW in the normal sense.

Butch Vig.

Talented guy. He probably knows how to get around these idiotic hosts.

@subject: I honestly don't know how guys do it, but I'm obviously in the minority. But for a long time things mostly worked in reaper and now it's doom and gloom.

I should do a clean install but I'm just too lazy really. Let's see how my current firesale goes.
