An updated, improved version of Virus MOD v2 by fr4ncesco just came out:

• The custom Wavetable set does not overwrite the original z3ta+ Wavetable set.
• When the VIRUS Wavetable set is loaded, the corresponding original VIRUS Waves labels are shown in the 'Oscillators Wave' selection (only 'User 1 to 6' labels remain unchanged being actually VIRUS Waves 58, 59, 60, 62, 63 and 64).
• The skin not only shows a more realistic hardware look but also helps with some clues in the signal flow.
• The default bank is preloaded with both the VIRUS Wavetable set and the z3ta+ original Wavetable set.
• Additional loadable VIRUS Waves (21, 22, 42, 44, 49, 54, 61, Saw and Pulse) are included so the "Classic" Mode set is now completed.

This is 2012 and there's Cakewalk z3ta+2 so what's the point of using v1.53?

• Cakewalk's v2 does not allow using more than one Wavetable set.
• Cakewalk's v2 does not have the 'Load Global Wavetable set' program option.
• Cakewalk's v2 does not have the 'Load Program Wavetable set' program option.
• Cakewalk's v2 does not handle banks as it used to be.
• Cakewalk's v2 distorts v1.x patches using 'Loaded User Wavetables'.
• Cakewalk's v2 offsets an octave up in arp patterns from v1.x patches.

Those interested get it quick cuse links won't last for long!

Cheers, Wally C

are the wavetables coming from Virus Synth this time or its not based at all as preveriously was?

because i think there is no sense to make hardware looking skin and wavetables that are not from virus and then name the mod virus...

My second favourite synth so far.
Downloading now. I hope this time i don't need to overwrite stuff.

Thanks for the heads up.

EDIT: Ok i got a problem. My Arpeggios, Banks, etc are in c:/Program Files/Cakewalk/Zeta+ folder.
And in the instructions, in the example you can see his arpeggios etc are into each VST folders. So it says to me to overwrite arpeggios.

How to avoid this? Confused
Could i copy what there is in the Program Files/Cakewalk/Zeta and make a copy into the new Virus Zeta (in my VST folder)?

EDIT 2: It doesn't work, like the last time Sad
All my files, banks, waves, etc are all messed up between my VST folder, Documents and setting/Cakewalk and Program Files/Cakewalk.
And also, the real time quality is set to "none", so i must set to x1 one by one if i don't want to listen a noisy sound.

EDIT 3: Ok, i tried to make a complete clean installation again.
Now i have everything in the same place. In my VST folder.
But strange that 'skin' folder is called 'resources' in my system. Also, there are no Banks folder neither. Should i create them manually?

EDIT 4: Noway of making it works. All my installed banks now sounds at 0 quality (except the original one).

Have a good day.

While I do agree importing and wavetable persistence should be easier, Z3ta+2's importing is just as flexible if you are programming a custom set. Just take a look at Muz3um 2 and 1-2-Many's Virus MOD 2.1

Good distorts or bad distorts? Smile Got proof? If so, report to Cakewalk so they fix it. Tek and a few others here are on Cakewalk's beta program so we can help report if there are real issues that need to be fixed.

I've never had any problems with Z3ta+2 distorting. If you can give more information I'll try and reproduce it here then pass it along to Cakewalk. Smile

Im guessing, and hoping, we are talking about something new here.
This will be the 'Ultimate' update.

Hope there is a post in instruments when it is ready.....
I get a lot of use out of Francescos work.

I can't wait Love I have been using z3ta+2 everyday for months and z3ta+1 before that and I have never heard it distort or really do anything wrong.
