to my buddy Jancivil-I should've been less inflammatory about your post. I'm going to wait on your proposal on how to do closed rolls/multibounce rolls with a keyboard.
Not one-shot sampling or any of that but how to hit the keyboard one time and initiate a triple stroke. No sampler tricks. No, maybe your right and I'm not taking this seriously. Until then enjoy my open doubles and also when the midi comes out with all the variations of the 41 you can jock me for my knowledge of the rudiments and what they represent to me. And don't forget I'm really a guitarist by trade...lulz

And also if anyone wants to learn the rudiments and the myriad of ways to use them. I would recommend the Matt Savage book over any of the others that may have been mentioned (Haskell Harr, fieldenstein studies)its much more modern and has multitudes of examples, a cd etc. A great reference.

yeah, it's a non-starter isn't it, isn't going to happen. after you described the particular difficulties you were looking at, at me you lept to 'jeez its not that difficult'. what?japut_99 wrote:to my buddy Jancivil- I'm going to wait on your proposal on how to do closed rolls/multibounce rolls with a keyboard.

what one would do, which just seems so obvious, is incorporate the drags, ruffs, flams, buzzes from a library (such as the one guy eventually did do). I wouldn't do it for free myself, I was too busy and will be too lazy unto perpetuity anyway, so I was willing to offer support to someone who would as encouragement.
Then I saw that you are going at it a way that I'm pretty sure isn't going to be so useful. "Any competent pianist", no, a super virtuoso at best & it's still nowhere in the ballpark. It is a matter of programming, end of story. Sorry, but 'jeez it's not that difficult' was a non-true statement and presumptuous of the next person's understanding of the problem.
