One of the most iconic presets ever to see the light of day. I believe the fairlight had that one (or was it the Emulator 3?). I'd say forget about trying to make it like it was and find a sample of some sort instead - you won'tnail the sound it's just too recognizable - a bit like Clock Tower from the d50 which no one wouldn't even dare to try making elsewhere |

It's the Emulator II Shakuhachi sample.
Several songs feature one "naked" in the beginning just begging to be sampled. Sledgehammer by Peter Gabriel, YellowStone Park by Tangerine Dream, Paula by Nasa, there's probably more. One of the most (over)used samples ever. ---- At school they taught me how to be. So pure in thought and word and deed. They didn't quite succeed. |

It seems I was partly wrong/right then! Overused or not, I still love it! I have a thing for iconic presets! |

It's just ironic that with the advent of samplers and limitless sonic potential there were like 5-6 samples that everyone used on everything. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=btaJTrkiHvw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N1tTN-b5KHg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RL5DjtZdexk ---- At school they taught me how to be. Here you go. Download the Enigma soundfont (Enigma.SF2) from the link below. Best Shakuhachi sample ever. B-Tribe also used it on track "Nadie Entiende" on album "Fiesta Fatal".

Check out Orange Tree Samples Native American Flute.
It's not the same Enigma Shakuhachi sound, but it sounds incredible and could cover much the same ground: http://www.orangetreesamples.com/mesawinds-native-american-f lutes |
