that x-files sound :)

i have very little musical experience, but i learning to play movie themes on an ipod touch + akai synthstation as a hobby. i have the blade runner theme down quite well, and now i've found the notes for the x files melody, but i can't for the life of me figure out how to recreate that sound.
(yes i know it was originally a whistling then run through a synth) it does not have to be perfect at all, but something similar would be nice.
i have nanostudio, animoog, sunrizer xs and alchemy mobile on the ipod, i figure one of those should be capable of creating something that sounds decent.
