It's a download now.

The main App Store download costs $US 199. This includes Logic + the plugins and some content. You can purchase Mainstage (live performance software) for $20.

Once Logic or Mainstage are installed there is an optional, free, in-app download that includes 19 GB of loops, samples and other content. This is accessed from the menu of either app.

It's great value, and Logic is an excellent host.

Peace,
Andy.

It's the same every place in the world.
The Logic Pro download includes the JamPacks and the garageband instruments, and ALL effects.
It ONLY does not include the Mainstage, Compressor, and Waveburner.
If you disagree, show me the site in Italy that says differently.
As I have already found other sites that state what is not included, as I stated above.
Therefore you are mostly wrong.
Secondly the mainstage app is only 30usd.
You have to dl the extra content after purchasing, but they are included.

edit:Here's some posts that show exactly what's contained in the additional free included downloads.

Now where is the App Store download version?
What your showing there we already know what's included...even though it's discontinued.
What about the included content of the Italian App Store Logic Pro?
Why won't you show that one?
:help: :nutter:  :o :uhuhuh: :box:
So...where is it?
What...I know why. Because it includes everything except 3 applications, and some loops.
It does however include all the jampacks, and gb instruments.
So your mostly wrong.

In italy we have two options:
LOGIC STUDIO (503 eur)
LOGIC APP (149 eur)

Seems in USA you are very lucky, you pay 149 for both :D

Now, if you want people to tell you "you are right, deeply right" that's ok :hihi:

My advice for purchasing Logic would be $200 for the download version. I'm quite sure the box is being discontinued, although I can't find this in writing. I can't imagine any amount of loops or what-have-you that would be worth the extra $300 at this point. For 200 they give you the works. If you don't want all the loopage, just stick with the basic download and pass on the rest of the in-app upgrades. You'll still have all the synths, fx and presets.

External monitors - I have to echo another user's frustration with Windows drivers and such. No big deal, but I was very happily impress when I hooked a flatscreen up to my little mbp and got a higher resolution than I do with the PC. I was probably just lucky, but that's the kind of luck I like!

It depends on the spec of the onboard video card on the machine you are using. With high end machines you can connect to large secondary monitors or HDTVs and get whatever resolution is appropriate for that monitor/TV and, ideally, you have the choice to run the secondary monitor as a clone of the laptop screen or to operate it as a second independent monitor. It is often hard to figure out from specs etc what a given laptop will support in this regard.

Not...try China. Lucky here, but the US is just ucky.

i don't care to watch pics in hgh resolution with my mac, i need to read patches, parameters, plugins infos, automation data and notation. And mac fonts are awfully blurred, because there is no clear-type technology as in windows. That's all.

myrna: have you sought assistance from Apple Store folks for your font issues? I really don't know how your experience could be so negative, based on what my own experiences are. Which model computer, which OS version and which external display model are you using? If you don't run an LCD at native resolution, it WILL be blurry and text WILL look bad. This is totally independent of the OS being used.

Native resolution has nothing to do with it when you work on pc. Only with mac, alas. Have you ever worked on a PC, even a crappy one? Thanks to the clear-type fonts, the reading experience is much more pleasant. Unluckely mac has no clear-type fonts, and you can notice the difference when working in high resolution monitors: mac fonts result blurred. Many mac fanboys claim that is much better, because mac blury fonts are more "natural" similar to "reading a book", while pc fonts are "cold"... but that is not true, it is just fanboysm, like when they defend the idiot jobs idea to maintain one mouse button.

What you fail to realise is that Jobs was always right, even when he was wrong.

Why can't you see that?

what should i see, sorry? For me Jobs was just a cynical dictatorial capitalist boss like the others. I don't understand why in USA he is considered a saint hero, maybe because you don't have socialism? :D In Italy there was an idiot cxxt, little xxckhead who claimed: "i am always right"... his name was mussolini... that is more than enough, thank you :hihi:
