When I click the Save button in Zebra 2 or Zebra HZ, sometimes I can't type a name for my patch. Any keys I press control the Cubase transport. If I press the spacebar it starts playback, etc. How do I disable this so that I can name my presets? This is in Cubase 6.5.2 on Mac. This is an intermittent problem. I have searched the manual and the forum but can't find this answer. Thanks.

It's a bug and is expected to be fixed in the practically-imminent next version of Z2 and ZHZ.

EDIT: I'm sorry, I didn't read this carefully. It sounds like Cubase is stealing keyboard strokes. You have two options:

1. Look at the Cubase options to see how to pass keystrokes to VSTi instruments. I don't own Cubase so I can't help, sorry.

2. Type the data you want into an open copy of notepad, cut and then right-click paste into the dialog box. It's not fast but will work.

I've seen it in Lion and Mountain Lion. I can't remember if I saw it in Snow Leopard but I think I did.

BTW I am SO impressed by Zebra HZ. I'm learning so much by breaking down the presets. Hans sent me back to school.

It happens to me too when moving between Zebra's GUI, Safari, a PDF file etc. For me it's solved by by clicking around.

Zebra 2.5.3. - Cubase 6.5.2. - Mac OSX 10.7.4.

I have the same issue in Sonar X1. What I do is type the name in Notepad and then copy and paste the text into Zebra's patch name field.

i also have some problem storing a preset.
i created a new folder and i can see it on my drive.
then i clic SAVE and i see a "save preset" window asking for patch name + datas.
i enter all then press "ok" but nothing happen .
the sound is not stored the window stays there .

i see this setting : patch format h2p and other button is "off"
(cubase 6.5 / window7 64)

i still have this problem
don't know how but one time out of three i can't save a patch.
i select the folder where i want to save, i press save, enter name etc ..clic ok
nothing happen.
please someone tell me what's wrong or update this it's a real problem not to be able to store presets ... i have a modular synth for that

And Win 7 64.
But are you running Cubase 64bit and the 64bit verion of Zebra?

thx for help. it's been some days where i'm trying to see how to reproduce this problem but i can't.
i'm using a template when i work on cubase. each time i open it, it comes with Vsti i'm using and preloaded instruments in Kontakt instances but with no samples (purged) so it's a big setup but ASIO indicator shows 25%.
sometime uhe vsti works perfect and i can really push the session and have no ressource problems. sometime as soon as i open it some uhe instances are not working. (always the 2nd and 3rd instance never the first one ...)

this is the detail of that template :
pianoteq (x3)
Wivi
kontakt4 (x5)
diva(x3)
zebraHZ (x3)
kontakt5 (x2)
fm8 (x2)
UVIworkstation (x1)
also using some bluecat audio plugs, guitar rig5, etc on channels.

When problem is here i can close cubase (if not crached) and reopen template most of time it's working good. but if i only close template and reload it without closing cubase i still have the problem. anyway if i create an empty session with only some uhe instance i can put lots of them without problem and when i get overload error instances are still working it's just that i get some "clics" but no "crash"

problems are :
#1 sometime some instance of zebra don't work. i see the window, i see incoming MIDI but no sound is going out no matter preset i load.
#2 sometime when i want to save a preset i press ok after entering name but nothing happen.

i'm sorry to say sometime it works sometime not. i really can't figure how it happen. i thought once it was related to some camel audio plug because when i removed Alchemy i got better results but no i get same thing again.
so i thought it's about ressource as my template is big but then i should get some "clics" not those problems (?)

things are getting worse.
i'm recording some audio on a session that has 3diva (not used but only powerd up)
when i record audio and press some UNDO i get instant crash of cubase and the crash report says that cubase stoped working because of diva i'll try a copy paste of the exact message
