Hey guys, I hear this sound alot in progressive house. It is on 1:34 in this video.
It's this jumping/bouncy sound that is pitching up every hit and follows a somewhat similiar rythm as the chords. Alesso uses this alot also.
Help? I use mainly Massive and Sylenth.
Progressive House Off-Beat Riser?

That exact sound is a sample from one of the Veangeance soundbanks. I think i recall it being from Electroshock 2 under misc / FX - but I'm not 100% sure.
You could replicate this fairly easy yourself, though. Stick together some saw waves. Stick an amp envelope controlling the pitch of the saw waves, with some decay, a little sustain and probably a little release aswell. You just gotta find a spot with the decay that makes you satisfied
There's alot of fun stuff to do with this sound - like changing the wave forms, sticking filters on it, and so - if you listen to the song "Antidote" by SHM - you'll hear this same effect early in the song, with square waves in stead of saw waves, and a high cut filter on top opening slowly. That's just one of the many possibilities.
Happy sound designing!

Thanks in "SHM in the studio" from FutureMusicMagazine they said that they had to download a plugin for it...but they didn't say which one.

Yeah I saw that too - I'm pretty sure they are discussing the pitch-part of the arrangement, for that plugin. Anyways - QuikQuak's Pitchwheel is great for this - but if you make this yourself in Sylenth/Massive regular Pitch Bend will easily do the trick for you.electrox73 wrote:Thanks in "SHM in the studio" from FutureMusicMagazine they said that they had to download a plugin for it...but they didn't say which one.
