I downloaded and installed version 2.15 of Sfark. However when I went to decompress a .sfArk file the program said it had an unrecognised compression method, and that I need a newer version. SFPack won't work with .sfArk files, but I can't locate a newer version of SFArk?? Any help much appreciated.

Where did you get the compressed soundfonts from?
Ask them where to get the appropriate decompressor ;-)

From here. I actually just wanted a decent soundfont so I could play midi files in VLC media player. The author's homepage no longer appears to be available.

Then I suggest contacting Thomas Hammer with the issue. The info on his FAQ needs to be updated since MelodyMachine.com is not functioning. His email address is listed on his About page.

Alternatively, start a new thread in the Samples section and ask weather anyone is kind enough to provide a download link for the unpacked .sf2 version of FluidR3.
[edit] done ;-)
