I was trying to save a FM8 patch last night but it seems patch saving is broken in FM8 now - can anyone confirm this? If I change say the amplitude envelope and then save the preset it is returning the envelope to the default position. Same with other params. Not sure if this is a new bug introduced with the latest update.

Both Save and Save as works fine here.

That's strange - on my system (Lion) any saves result in resetting the params. Did you try changing some then saving?

This is an old issue - I remember now it came up a couple of years ago on the reaper forum - so still not fixed?

Just to be sure I did it once more with a new patch

I opened Actionurlaub, the first preset in my FM8 factory folder.
Changed Lot of the envelopes and used the option "save as" and saved with a different name. Closed FM8.
Opened FM8 again opened the just saved preset. Changed some envelopes again, and used the option "save" this time.

Closed and opened again. Everything worked fine.

I think that if You save a Factory preset, You have to use " Save as" First time.

You definitely need to use "Save as" for factory content- the factory location's write protected.

Yeah but it's nothing to do with that. It seems to be just the easy page and XY, whatever position the knobs and sliders are in they reset to 0 as soon as I hit save. And they also do this in some programmes if you automate those params (as you can see from the reaper forum thread)

Ok
I see what you mean now

I can confirm that Amplitude envelope resets.

If I change Attack in amplitude envelope to 64 and save, the slider resets to 0

when loaded the saved patch again, it plays like the slider was at 64, but slider says 0

It's not new, this happens with FM8. Saving a preset moves the amplitude sliders to 0, but the preset should still play at the last settings you applied. Clicking "apply" will do the same thing.

That's weird behaviour - it means you can't visually see what you have adjusted or by how much. Plus it causes all sorts of problems with automation of those params in some hosts (Reaper and Cubase at least).

Just checked, latest version, both standalone and AU in Logic work just fine.
The strange thing I found (which I incidentally discovered to day, prior to updating) is that the presets are saved, I can search for them within FM8. But they don't show up in the browser while browsing. So when i enter the name in the search field, it shows up, when i select the category it's assigned to, it doesnt. This is not related to this version as mentioned, but very odd.

These things sounds really bad. Even more if is not related os x version number.

I'm not seeing that on my system, even with the new version param changes are not resetting the plugin when saved as variations.

That's just the way the easy tab works. You'll either need to hit apply to keep the changes, or edit the source envelopes they are linked to in the op/env tabs.
