Everyone *new* to the recording game wants to have a professional sounding record or track without learning too many tricks, so why not get some of the most famous engineers in the biz and make a product out of there sound? What do you think of the products? Are they easy to use? |

I got the Maserati for electric guitar and acoustic and cla guitars. I like them all. But they are specialized per instrument pretty much.
If to spend money today I would get Gold bundle (31 plugs) for <$300. You come a long way owning those. Limiters, EQ, channelstrip, many useful effects for doubling etc. But if to pick from the smaller bundles most useful is probably Kramer TTT bundle. Three very hot plugs. Both an EQ and compressor to die for you can put on any track, and then spread some stardust with Master Tape where needed. |

Personally they are not for me. Because I have my own way of mixing things already that is pretty simple for me. I have demoed a few of them and yes, they are easy to use. ---- my music: http://www.soundclick.com/alexcooper “Everybody is a genius. Hit and miss. I didn't connect with the CLA stuff but didn't demo it extensively. Both the JJP bass and drums had very useful tools for e.g. hip hop drums.
I own the Maserati Bass plug-in, which can be very sweet in enhancing the fullness and "depth" of bass parts, particularly things where you have a really good bass sound to begin with, or something acoustic like an upright bass, and you want to make sure the bass sounds as good as it can in the mix. Probably less important in a busy mix, but beautiful in a sparser one. ---- Yes! |

I bought the Maserati ACG (acoustic guitar) plugin and found it to be a very unique and usable plugin, so I upgraded to the full Maserati bundle. TBH, I rarely use the other plugins and when I do, I just find them to have a pretty serious "meh"-factor to them. I really thought that, at the very least, they would be usable for throwing together rough & ready quick mixes (e.g., for the singers to get an idea of the final product after tracking their vox), but the presets rarely do the trick for me, and I don't really find it much quicker to dial in a decent sound with these than it would with my other go-to EQs, compressors, reverbs, delays, etc. So, I just go with my go-tos and avoid the extra steps. Still, I constantly find myself tempted by the CLA bundle based on the audio demos, just to see if it's any better for my purposes than the Maserati bundle is. Either way, I'm keeping the ACG! |
