evo2slo - Ocean Foam

Roll like a wave
Skip like a stone
Time fades away
Like ocean foam

One drop of blood in the sea
One grain of sand on the beach
One heart in love with a dream
One day the slaves will be free

This is where life began
This is where life will end

Instruments (in order of appearance):
Steven Slate Drums, Arturia Wurlitzer, Fender P-Bass, u-he Diva, Vocals, Camel Audio Alchemy, home-made acoustic (from Martin kit), Agile Telecaster, Steinberg Retrologue, Tibetan Gong

Sand Between Your Toes

Lyrics:
Sand Between Your Toes

The sun is shining bright in the city
Summer can be felt in the air
It is time to leave behind
All the troubles of your mind
I know a place we can unwind
I'll take you there

Listen to the song of the ocean
Dance to the rhythm of the sea
Throw a towel on the sand
Let's get working on your tan
Don't be shy, take my hand
And follow me

Sand between your toes
Shells under your soles
Leave your shoes, grab your bag
And let's go for a stroll

Feel the waves lap at your feet
Turn your face against the breeze
Take a breath, smell the beauty
Of the beach

Waiting for the tide
Oh, the weather is so nice
Look around and let me show you
A piece of paradise

The water is warm
The sun is hot
The crabs are hiding in the rocks
Take off your socks and get sand between your toes

Take off those socks and get sand between your toes
Oh, loosen up and get sand between your toes

Every beach party needs to have tunes provided by an absolutely shitty rock band.

Oh yeah! We're The Shitpops!
http://www.victorlams.com/kvr-vst/1208_DrAX_Oh_Yeah_Were_The _Shitpops.mp3

The vocals are me, recorded with a Samson Go Microphone into my iPad, recorded in my car in a parking lot. All of the music tracks are GarageBand's Smart instruments, exported to Auria and mixed and mastered there using Auria's effects.

Sorry about the multiple posts/edits but I cannot seem to get the URL tag working today.

This theme reminded me of my Philippines trip. I have been to several beaches but this trip always comes to my mind when I think about the beach. In 2009, I visited Manila for 6 weeks for project work. While I was there the local project team arranged a team event and we all went to Batangas. I forgot the name of the resort but it has a nice beach at the back. We spent the morning and major part of the afternoon in the team events, water sports, etc. By evening I was very tired and was sitting at a secluded area of the beach. As it was little away from the public, it was calm and quiet. Sitting there all alone enjoying the sunset, the crystal clear sound of waves. I remember I was going through some mixed emotions. While I was missing my family badly Sad at the same time I was bit happy to have met some nice people. I tried to capture my mixed emotions in this track.

DAW: Sonar X1
Plugins: Dimension Pro, WusikStation, Dune BE
Effects: Sonitus Reverb, ProChannel Compressor and Eq, AfterShockDelay, LimiterNo6, ReflexFree

Picture used in the track was taken by me.
