Long time no speak, folks. How's it going? Job/school/family doing okay? Did you ever have a doctor look at that mysterious rash?

Well okay, enough about *you*, let's talk about *me*...

Where have *I* been? Oh, I was producing indie rock for a friend, and then we released some tunes on the Rock Band Network video game content platform, and it kept building momentum. Eventually we decided to just call the collaboration a band.

And so we became The James Rocket, and we released our debut album "Launch" yesterday. You can stream it free from our home site:

http://www.TheJamesRocket.com/

There's links to free downloads there (and the Twitters and the Facebooks, if that's your thing), with some places to buy it, too. You know, the typical pleading to the listening public for a bit of attention, if not their love and money.

As a bit of fun, you might compare the final versions with the two covers I did for the KVR monthly contests:

Francis Gary (orig: James William Roy)
Opted In (orig: James William Roy)

Actually used my original kazoo solo in the final version of "Opted In", that same solo that launched a kazoo renaissance on KVR! (well, erm, at least for that one kazoo-theme month of the contest...)

So that's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it. Come visit us at the home site, give it a stream (it's only 34 minutes total) and drop me a line if you like what you hear. Or heck, even if you don't like it: constructive criticism is nice, too!

Cheers,
- m

Great to see you back here Markleford. Love that Paper Valentines tune. I was going to write something about Bob Mould/Sugar, but turns out I already did that a few years ago :hihi:

Anyway, great set of tunes!

Ah, indeed! I'd forgotten about that thread, way back then: the feedback gave us a lot of encouragement to keep going! Thanks for that.

So we're sticking with this sorta stuff. If you know fans of similar bands, please point them at the stream! We already have 12 songs lined up for the next album, so hopefully we'll have something to offer in 2013, too...

Yeah, a bit of a throwback, eh? People have mentioned that before. Funny thing is that neither James or I cite that era as an influence, but I guess you can't help being a product of all of your subconscious listening!

Next stop, Summer of Love...

Thanks for listening!
