Hi!
The Waldorf Edition LE suite included in the "Excite+ Pack" CD that came with my Novation ReMote SL61 refuses to install / authenticate in my new Toshiba Tecra (i7) laptop (windows7 pro, 64bit) strange, because I had it installed and authenticated without problem in Windows7 32bit AND later Win7 64bit, in my older Pentium D desktop without any problems!... I just don't get it, why it installed on win7 64bit on the desktop but not on win7 64bit on the newer laptop?... Is there any known workaround to make it install / authenticate successfully in my new laptop? I've tried winXP SP2 and SP3 compatibillity modes, but to no avail... I'm transferring my old songs from the desktop to the laptop and I really need to install the Waldorf LE plugins, because they're used in many of my songs. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions. ---- ![]() |

Try this trick or install either or all of 2005, 2008 and 2010 Visual C++ runtimes packages from Microsoft |

Many Thanks, V'ger -- I'm going to try your suggestions later tonight and I'll report back on the results. I was becoming really desperate about this unexpected problem, so thanks again! ---- ![]() |

well... I've checked in the install/uninstall programs at the windows control panel and it shows that all the 2005, 2008 and 2010 Visual C++ runtimes packages from Microsoft were already installed, so that's not what's causing the problem. As for the trick you linked too, it involves a serial number, and my version of the Waldorf LE is not activated in that way -- it is, instead, authenticated through the original CD that came in the Novation package -- I'm not exactly sure how, but it seems to involve the installer checking first if the CD is authentic (and not a copy) through verifying some serial number on the CD itself, I guess... After passing this test, then it begins to install, but, even though my CD is the original "Excite+ Pack", it doesn't recognize it, so it never even gets to install anything, even though the installer itself launches and gathers the initial info to begin the installation. But when it reaches the authentication step, it stops and shows the following message:

I think I had this problem. I contacted Waldorf and they sorted it for me in no time, they gave me a different installer file. ---- Aiynzahev-sounds Resonance Sound Sound Designer - Soundsets for Massive, LuSH, DIVA, DUNE, Sylenth and others |

Thanks, I solved the problem by downloading the Beat Mag version and then signed up to, 1st at BeatMag to get the voucher code , then at the Waldorf site to get the serial number and download -- in short, almost a whole afternoon of reading bad automatic German translations (as I don't understand German), and all this after almost no sleep last night But it's solved now, or better said, I kind of circunvented the problem this way... My CD version was 1.2.3 and the Beat version is 1.3.0 and uses a serial instead of a CD authorization and finally it's all working properly. I suspect it was the copy protection on my CD that somehow got deteriorated... Thanks again for the 1st link, I started from there and followed all the way to the Beat site and then Waldorf, email and so on... Cheers ---- ![]() |
