Sadly it's quite easy to rip songs from the souncloud player and many other players. Several Firefox add-ons can do it, for example.

Thats the worst part: They are guaranteed to be supplying the worst quality available by having a script rip the stream.

There's one of my track there. Strangely, it's a demo I have made for an Electronisounds sound library. It's mostly loops layered together, so it's not really 100% "my" music.

I don't even remember posting this on Soundcloud, but I guess I did...

What they are doing is not very ethical, but listenning to my track I was very proud. Makes me realize that my music may be worth something. I could try selling ringtones!

If you type in Metallica, you get a fair few hits.

I can't hear any of the plays at the moment (bad connection?) but if they're distributing works by established artists for free, they probably won't last for very long.

If the website isn't broken on iPhone, I found none of mine there (dysamoria). I'm not popular on soundcloud, so maybe that's why they didn't rip my stuff.

found some old mello KvR contest stuff and a demo for NuSofting there. some songs work, some don't. well, they have always been free to download. i wouldn't accept though, if someone steals the music (or the lyrics) or parts of it.

this issue is why I don't offer mp3 downloads with a direct link when i do post at Music Cafe here. I've found this directly leads to to various sites putting them up for sale. They wouldn't sell so much but I don't like it.

I had a Russian fan approach me at facebook with a whole compilation of my tracks (128 kbps) one time, some of which I hadn't shared except via bandcamp, w. no free downloads enabled there at that time.
