Well i used this DAW way back when, it was on V6 like 8 years ago, still on V6! And it is still $329! Anyhow I'm just wondering who uses this now. Thoughts? I get a bit nostalgic to see the GUI to be honest :hihi:

I have just discovered Metro : it seems to be by a long way the most comprehensive DAW for editing MIDI data. This is very important to me, so I will definitely have a go at it with the demo.
And yes, I agree the GUI looks fine.

I understand they will release V7 before the end of the year, and it is on sale at the moment for $ 132.00 instead of $ 329.99.

Obviously not a well known DAW, but one which could well deserve to be better known. The demo can be downloaded from http://www.sagantech.biz/products/

Looks interesting, but as far as I can tell, it's still 32 bit. Is that correct?

Post

You are probably correct : I am not 100% sure but believe it is actually 32 bits. Still, it really looks like it is worth trying it.

Post

It is 32 bit on Mac but 32/64 on PC.

Post

Sorry for my mistake, I apologise !
Having just installed the demo on my laptop Windows computer, I saw I was offered 32 or 64 bit version and was just preparing to correct my posting error.
Looks really promising from what I have seen.

Well I was able to locate my old login, got a new password, but I don't own a functional Mac and the license isn't cross-platform apparently. Also I only own 6.3, not 6.5.

Hello Braj,

If you have 6.3 you can upgrade to 6.5.x for a small charge but that will include a free upgrade to Metro 7 when released. The upgrade to 6.5.x will include access to both the newer mac version and 32/64 bit PC versions 6.5.x. Just go to our store, on the left under categories, select 'software' and then 'upgrades' and then '6 to Metro 6.5 Upgrade'.

Does this mean that even those purchasing 6.5 now at the sale price will get the free upgrade to Metro 7 when released? (Sorry if this is posted at your site, but I didn't see it).

When is 7 to be released, and what are the confirmed changes?

Yes! Anyone who has purchased a Metro 6.5 license after Sep 10, 2012 will be entitled to a free upgrade to Metro 7 (The same is true for Metro SE and Metro LX).
