Why does the full version of Amplitube have nag screens like:
"Order iRig Mix today!"

At first I thought it was the free version but it also happens after I had bought the app.
Couldn't find a way to turn it off either.

Maybe an IKM rep has some info.

Hi, good timing as I was in a meeting where this came up and I brought this thread to the attention of the appropriate folks. Apparently it is being worked on as we speak. I can't make guarantees as to what exactly will change but I know your concern has been raised to the appropriate people here.

Thanks Peter.
That is very good info.

My solution would be to put an "ad" banner in the iRig menu option or in startup screen. But not mid app.
Maybe also remove the account item (since its not used once registered) and put a news feed there.

We will see what happens :)

Slash would disapprove.

:P

Peter, if this product is intended for live use then ads etc. should be gone.

"Don't quantize me bro"!

Personally, as long as it doesn't mess with the sound for live use I don't see it messing with your set. I understand it can be irritating which is why we have brought it up to the right people.

Once you register, the one reminding you to register should go away by design. Please report this to support and they will help you get that to go away. http://ikmultimedia.com/support

Any news on this?

Both Amplitube and Sampletank have nag screens when you start them up.
Amplitube = buy iRig Stomp
Sampletank = buy iGrand Piano

I would rather have an email with this info then have it put in my face every time I start the app.
If the app would be 99 cents I would understand.

I want to get an iRig Midi but I am afraid I will get a message to buy an iRig KEYS when connecting the device... :lol:

I've seen mockups of good alternatives - I'll follow up. If you have iRig MIDI you won't get pop ups for it, and the hardware device won't cause extra popups in an app as far as I can tell, they are supposed to suppress the messages about THAT device.

Post

The iRig Midi remark was more on a joke. :D
I do have the Midi and Keys on my radar so hopefully this gets fixed soon.

2 months in + i'll follow up = nothing was ever going to change

Relates to any business.

Probably true.

They probably think it generates extra income.
I think most audio users are pretty aware what is on the market and don't need these kind of ads.
For me its a turnoff to buy anything IK.

Post

Hopefully it changes at some point. It's tacky design.

It is very irritating to pay for a product, only to be harassed to buy more products....

I agree...IK, please change this annoying strategy. Why do you want to make your user have a lousy experience?
