Saving edits in UVI

Hi - I'm new to KVR and Acoustic Samples/UVI. have both the Academic and Kawai Pianos. In creating sounds i can recall, i save with a name. I can recall the 'patch'. The Close, Player, etc. samples come up correctly. But the FX (EQ, Verb, etc) while inserted, come up bypassed, and reset (zero'd out EQ gain increases, 'True' reset to 'False'). Yet they seem to be working... Anything I may look at that I've done 'wrong'?

Also - I noticed the Kawai in Kontakt was a much larger file (17GB vs 9GB). I have Kontakt and LOVE IT. Is it possible to crossgrade?
