Possible Phonec bug (?)

I just recently noticed that when I use the Echoshifter the CPU usage goes way up, ususally hovering between 20% and 30%, sometimes higher. When I turn it off the CPU goes back down to the low single digits. I'm wondering if the Echoshifter is really that resource intensive or there might be something a bit off.

The only other plugin I've seen with the same behaviour was also put together in Synthedit and was suffering from a denormal. Putting Digitalfishphones' normalizer in front of it cleared everything up. I tried that with Phonec but couldn't, I think because it doesn't have audio inputs (?).

Actually, being able to proccess external audio with Phonec's ringmod, distortion, filters etc. would be a prettty awesome addition. Sorry to sneak in a feature request. :)

Something to take a look at after the hollidays perhaps.

Thanks

Oops, forgot to mention: WinXP 32 bit SP3, Core2 Duo E4500.

I know exactly what you're talking about with the Echoshifter cpu spikes. I'm in the process of finishing up an update that will correct this issue. Also, it's strange that you should mention external audio processing, because that will be one of the added features. It won't pass through the ringmod or filters, but instead it will allow you to 'Melt' other instruments as well as pass them through the delay. It's among many exciting new features that will be in this update! I kind of went overboard on this one, since it's only a small jump from 1.1 to 1.2, I'm setting a new standard for myself in small updates
But anyway, expect this update to be released in the next week or so.

Looking forward to the update, your synth is one of only two SE synths I use regularly.
Happy new year :)

Will we see some more waveforms and/or combiner modes?

Yes, there will be a couple new waveforms as well as a new X-Wave combination mode.
