Sadly my favourite module, a granular module called Singin-in-the-Fog, is no longer included. It wasn't included in the last version I used from ages ago either (2.0.2). I've tried looking around for older versions but it seems I can only find v2.0.2. Does anybody have a Windows version with the Singin-in-the-Fog module included or know where it can be downloaded?
I've still got the Singin-in-the-Fog orc file for the module in an old temp folder. Is there an way of importing this into the new version perhaps? Bear in mind that I know absolutely nothing of CSound coding.
Here's an example of the kind of sounds achievable with the module. Bear in mind that no grain transposition was used (as far as I recall - we're going back to 2005ish here, the source being a John Kerry speech probably gives this away). All 'transposition' effects are done by changing the speed at which grains are generated. The possibilities of synchronous onset granular synthesis still blow my mind today.

Ooh, I've just noticed Cecilia 5 is now in beta! Latest was released today. This latest version has, perhaps controversially, left CSound completely behind meaning that it's now just a self contained, non-extendable (?), tool for making crazy noise. One for fans of FScape, Mammut, CDP etc. Get it here: http://code.google.com/p/cecilia5/

Thanks Whyterabbyt! I contacted Bill using the email address on the page and he kindly sent me a copy. It's open source, so he says he's more than happy for me to distribute if anyone wants it.
To close, here's another effect I created with the module in 2005ish. A granular 'pseudo risset' effect which appears to constantly increase in pitch/density despite decreasing overall. Achieved by manipulating the grain frequency and octave drop controls.

I've discovered Hourglass by Xenakios since making this thread which has pretty much replaced Singin in the Fog for me. It's far more fully featured overall, and I gather with a bit of scripting could imitate all of the more unique features of the Singin module too. Still, until I learn said scripting, Singin will have a place...

Despite the module's age, there was no other tool I was aware of which had a similar interface and could do similar things to SitF, but then Hourglass came along and blew me away. It's truly the most underrated software around right now. Xenakios is constantly tweaking, improving, and sharing at a rate that puts most payware devs to shame. I may well end up donating a second time.
