Hi KVR'ians
Please listen to and comment a new song from my band Portonova on Soundcloud. We're playing jazz with all kind of influences: ska, hiphop, house. 'Gonna See My Baby' is skajazz, based on an AABA-jazz chord scheme The song started as a sketch in Ableton Live. Drums were recorded on location using a Pro Tools set. she is an amazing singer. enjoyed all of the other instruments too. great stuff!
is that a real singer or a special effects trick? her voice is _high_. if this is an actual, un-effected recording of a singer, it's great. btw, i couldn't get your link to work. found the song through this: http://soundcloud.com/portonova/tracks it's now playing 'i want you here'. hats off to you. this is good stuff. love the choice of notes in the vocals and sax. 'since i met you' has got a great vibe. i'd like to hear more of the female lead singer on this one. 'honesty' is a great one. great singer. of the several listened to, this is my favorite mix/arrangement. great stuff! to me, it sounds like old school (1970s and before) music, with modern twists (samples, stutters, etc.) added in. 'wonderful day'... awesome! |

But when we're performing live, she only wants to sing this skasong once.
