EDIT January 9: Even if the Holidays Sale is over, I have decided to leave this set on sale until January 31st!

Prepared Rhodes is 70% off for the Holidays! Get the Wav plus soundfont formats for $2.09 and the Kontakt 3/ Battery 3 formats with the wav and soundfont for $2.99.

It's a real Rhodes that is prepared as John Cage and others prepared an acoustic piano, that means you insert springs, plastic tubes, pins, etc., all kinds of objects inside the piano. These objects when touching the strings or the tines change the sound of each key played. All the notes can be radically different from each other and often you don't even recognize the original sound. You get an instrument that is much more percussive in nature.

Some MP3 examples:

Bach 2 parts invention No. 13 (all versions)

Distorted PR through an amp sim. (all versions)

Quad Zamp 1 in our own Quad Zamp with pitch randomization (wav)

Quad Zamp 2 in our own Quad Zamp with pitch randomization (wav)

Harplike (Kontakt 3, Battery 3)

Site Under Construction (Kontakt 3, Battery 3)

I am taking the liberty to copy below the comment colin@loomer made in the thread in the Market Place.

The Prepared Rhodes sample set is absolutely fantastic.

This would have been well-worth the original price; at this discount, it's a no-brainer. I doubt anyone I know would let me cram razor blades, springs, screwdrivers, or plastic tubings into the mechanism of their Rhodes: how else would I ever get this sound.

And you get bonus points because you sensibly named and organised all your samples. This makes it all the easier when building custom presets in other samplers.

Well done, zvon!

Absolutely fine with me!

I recently purchased your Reed Organs set too; another winner as far as I'm concerned. The MicrOrgan was a sound I've been looking for since forever. I heard something similar on a folk song and have struggled to get a matching tone using accordion samples. It was only when I heard your MicrOrgan I realised my error; it wasn't an accordion: it was a reed organ all along!

Hi Colin,

Thanks for your comments about the Reed Organs, I am glad that you're enjoying them.

The MicrOrgan is indeed a fine reed organ and I was lucky to find it in a flea market. The Supertone is very nice too, it was also a lucky flea market find. Magnus and Bontempi reed organs are not rare and they can easily be found but they complement well the first 2 in this set.
