Hey everyone,
So I'm brand new to SonicBirth and my main goal is to start making compressors so I thought I would start by copying the stock compressor plugin that comes with the program. I copied the thing in it's entirety as far as I can tell. However, something is wrong and it won't function with the sound server/ playback feature. I have no idea why. Could anyone take a look into this? Thanks in advance, https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6783861/Archive.zip |

Hi,
Your circuit is not complete. There is nothing inside the "compress" subcircuit. Also I do not understand what you are trying to do with the div element, it seems weird to input audio and envelope control signal into the same div element. If you connect a wire from input to output, you will probably find that the sound server works. Go from there and find the error. Or start learning by making a simple volume control by using a slider and a multiplier. Audio source to multiplier input A, Slider to multiplier input B. The multiplier output (a*b) is now audio output. |

Thanks so much for your feedback.
I understand the circuit is not complete and have tried isolating the problem. My confusion lies with the subcircuit and your input on it. I am unsure as to what you mean by saying there is nothing inside the subcircuit. When I click settings, all I see is: "Name, Comments, Inputs/Outputs, and Name and type" do I need to add to this to complete this subcircuit? Here is the stock compressor that I copied that WORKS, https://dl.dropbox.com/u/6783861/Compressor.component.zip I understand basic connections but can't seem to find the difference between the working original and my copy. As for the div element, I'm not actually sure of the function as this is my first go at this and I am only making a copy. |

Select the subcircuit and click on the "Next" button at the top of the SonicBirth window: you will go inside the subcircuit and find out that it's indeed empty. |

Thanks everyone,
Yes, that is what I was looking to do. Not sure why I overlooked this function in the manual but I was confused as hell. |
