so i did this yesterday after supper and i'm wondering, should i work on it for days/months and polish it to the max, or should i just release it as is?

i find there is a really in your face feeling to the 4 hours version i might loose if i put on another 60-80 hours making every hat different, every 4 bars not repeating and so on, so, should i just say f**k it and upload it on iTunes/beatport/etc tonight or should i keep it in the need work folder and spend like 100 hours polishing it
Just release it. You may lose something in it if you start messing with it too much. If it feels finished to you and you are happy with it then it is right
.
Sounds fine on my headphones here.
Good luck.

My 2 cents...

Polish it. Spend the necessary time.

If nothing else, table it for a couple days and then re-listen to see if you still think it's ready. Some of the changes could really benefit from adding energy to the drums (at the changes), because otherwise the buildup (first one in particular) lacks punch where it needs it.

Otherwise I like the track and look forward to seeing the finished product. 8)

i like this. i say give it a bit more polish but certainly not 100 hours as that will most likely kill all spontaneity. a couple of days max should do it.

neil.

I really like these "new-old skool" House tracks using classic gear. In this case, the mix of classic House and modern Electro could work wonders on any dancefloor.

About the "raw" feel... hmm, hard to say, because it gives the track a lot of character and personality, but maybe some gentle filtering and/or EQ in the hats, crash and lead could make it "shine" without lose the dirtiness of the mids and lows.

Nevermind. The track already rocks as-is. :D

Ah, for a complete and serious response I need to listen to the whole thing, huh?
I have a long drive tomorrow, if this setlist is available for download I think tomorrow while I am driving would be a good chance to listen so I can leave my feedback, if you would like.
