I've just discovered that MAutodynamicEQ 7.07 is my only plugin that is not properly latency corrected in Logic 9.1.8 (OS 10.8.3)!
Only at 1x oversampling it seems to report the correct latency - @ 2x the audio is totally off.

Hi, I'm afraid we know about the problem. We are discussing it with Apple, unfortunately they are almost nonresponsive, as usual... We'll see.grooveminister wrote:I've just discovered that MAutodynamicEQ 7.07 is my only plugin that is not properly latency corrected in Logic 9.1.8 (OS 10.8.3)!

Thanks for the quick reply!
Is there a workaround for this?
I'm pretty sure it worked in Logic @ 32bit at least in earlier versions...

I don't think it ever worked in Logic, unless they have changed something. Normally hosts are asking plugins on every playback restart for current latency. In VST & VST3 you can even make host do this any time. Logic 9 seems never to do that...

How do other plugin manufacturers deal with this?
I've got UAD, iZotope, IK, fabfilter, Waves, Relab... plugins in these projects, and they are always pefectly corrected.

I'm not really sure. The truth is most plugins don't need to change latency, they just don't have that advanced features. So when a plugin has latency only with some settings, it reports the latency always. Of course, this is very noneffective as it makes the plugins in time, but makes them have latency all the time. However it seems possible to change latency in Logic, we just don't know how and it seems there is no documentation nor support to find out.grooveminister wrote:How do other plugin manufacturers deal with this?

There is a way to do that!
iZotope's RX2 denoiser plugin has 4 different modes with 4 different & huge latencies which are shown under the "options" tab in the plugin.
If I change the settings, the alignment is off until the buffer has been played out and then everything is in perfect sync.
Hope you find a way to implement this in Melda-plugins because otherwise these are awesome!
Best wishes,
Andreas

Well, still trying, but Logic's support is still not responsive and even worse - I heard Logic's development has more or less been dropped (well, it's technically ancient, but it's sad anyway). So who knows, maybe there's just nobody to know anymore... We'll keep digging.
