Help, I am a new iPad owner

I don't have any love for their wares, apps or hardware (mostly because of the way they push their stuff on here and other forums, but that is my deal), but I know some do. Just be aware that all that you read isn't necessarily what it might seem with them guys as they are on staff

They ALWAYS recommend their employers apps as you might expect. Nothing wrong with that, as long as you aware that is the case.

I'm not hiding the fact. Its in my name and in my signature. At this point, it goes without saying, because I've already said it. But I also talked about DM-1 and funkbox in the same post you just quoted. Making music is fun and we make some cool stuff to make the music making fun. So do others. Cool.

Throwing out the idea of Midi Designer Pro ( or Lite ) to create your own custom midi controller interface for Studio One. Super easy but also very deep potential. Great program.

by the way, I started out a couple years ago just like you say you are and these are the programs that I like best after a couple years of obsessing and trying everything I could get my hands on;

EDIT: oops! I thought for some reason "sequencer" meant "step sequencer." It is a full-fledged sequencer, I found out.

So far my favourites are V-Control -- and that's right, Lemur. This does everything. MIDI Designer is also a very interesting one but I couldn't bother going to paid version when ... Lemur does everything. Maybe little too much, but still very nice.

I think V-Control has a huge potential if all plugin windows could be controlled via touchscreen... but not sure.

DM-1 has been a good drum machine but it doesn't play nice with Genome, which is a good sequencer but maybe a little too complicated for its own good.

In the end everything will still be done on my desktop, but this does raise a good point as to whether something like Slate Raven will get really popular -- and maybe we won't need a special hardware but some app and a large touchscreen.

Having said that, one thing I love is SoundPrism. It is instantly playable, but it doesn't treat you like an idiot, so if you're a musician I believe you can treat it as an instrument and get pretty cool sounds.

Now I am looking for a notational solution. This may be one step too far, but I don't like how Sibelius is shaping up and blah blah. Would be nice if I don't have to use my wacom tablet anymore...

For simple things that can be played very well there is Alchemy, which is excellent as always, and makes me wonder why I don't own Alchemy.

Other than that... had few interesting moments with djay. Is this what DJs do? I wanna get on it. I thought there was some hyper DJ-brain was needed but I got some strangely convincing results: maybe it could be better with a real DJ deck.

Couldn't tell if you are talking about for desktop or iPad. If iPad, the only solution I know of is Notion.

I am as entitled to my opinion and to voice it as you are. Not an attack on you (as you guys sometime get on here). Now lets all live in peace and enjoy dm1. Cool.

I would add stochastic as a great drum app also. You mentioned lemur, I struggle with it. Make sure you have a need before you drop the cash on it. TouchOSC was easier to use for me and a damn sight cheaper.
