Hi Dave and Equilibrium users,
Is it just here or is the Side channel meter Solo button not working properly. To hear the Side channel exclusively I must Mute the Mid instead. I would think I could just hit the Solo button on the Side channel but that is for some odd reason not giving expected results...Furthermore, the Analyzer is displaying the same thing I am hearing. When the Solo for Side is activated then I still get Mid signal yet when I just Mute the Mid channel I see it disappear in the Analysis. Thanks for any confirmation from anyone experiencing the same issue.

DAMMIT! They +SPECIFICALLY+ agreed to double-check with me.Keith99 wrote:They also have it listed in the mag as £150 but just been to the website and it is 175shame
Really sorry about that. £150 was launch month (read 6week) discount. As we always do.
Dave.

Also, headsup: I'm moving the DMGAudio server. We're past the worst now, and it all appears to have settled, but if you've had any weirdness over the last 24hrs, that'll be why.
Dave.
Edit:
For catharsis, I'm going to use this edit to rant.
So, DMGAudio +was+ hosted on dreamhost, since inception. Sadly dreamhost have disastrously low uptime, and are massively blacklisted for email. So tonnes of people requested demo licenses, and they just didn't arrive! Specifically, issues were mostly with AOL and Hotmail/Live. Dreamhost has BARELY worked, and it's been an inconvenience for everyone. So, I've moved everything to a little VPS with Rackspace. Rackspace are the opposite extreme - EXTREMELY high uptime, skilled, knowledgeable, friendly staff, and everything works great. Email is still a challenge, they tell me, so they bought a company called Sendgrid, whose job is to make sure email gets through (email here referring to customer support emails, lost password requests, demo requests, and general conversations), and it's free for Rackspace customers, so I'm delighted. Thus far, everything appears to be going well.... the exeption? Well, I'm still waiting for the DNS propagation (dreamhost, again. They're still registrar.) to fully complete. Everywhere I query outside the UK seems to have propagated, except me. Naturally, I'm continually flushing DNS caches etc, but uuuggghhh. It really has been a nightmare.
Rant over.
Dave.

DP8 windows? Is that new?ULAS wrote:I can not use it on DP8 Windows. It crashes..
Can you drop me a crash log and I'll investigate. Always fun to find new things to fix.
One thing I /will/ mention pre-emptively though is that DP has an extraordinary habit of being "fussy" about channel counts; so if you instance a mono instance on a stereo track, or vice versa, it tends to get a little upset.
In any case, are you using VST or VST3? x32 or x64?
Lemme know,
Dave.

Dave, Dreamhost has definitely had it's issues lately. Quite frustrating considering that they have the best and most fully featured admin around for shared hosting. The Wordpress attacks that have been going on lately have affected them and lots of others, which hasn't helped.
But on the email front, I don't use Dreamhost's servers. I choose the Gmail option and it lets you automatically switch from using their email service to using Gmail.
Not sure if Rackspace offers that, but it may be an option. Now I check all my email through Gmail and have no issues that I can see so far.

How would that be fair to people who've paid the right price?Keith99 wrote:Maybe you should do another brief 150 offer to cash in on itDaveGamble wrote:DAMMIT! If I bought the Equilibrium and Compassion bundle, would I need the Equality and Equick? Or does Equilibrium cover everything that Equality and Equick do?
Btw I am not going to purchase anytime soon cause Im broke right now but i've been eyeing this bundle instead of say going for the Izotope Studio bundle.

Equilibrium covers both the other EQs very nicely.
Cheers!

Questions:
1. Imagining one had a model of an EQ identified by having brown knobs, which, in it's original configuration was calibrated (by means of a trimmer on the board) to offer +/-15 dB of range, and then later (indicated by recolouring of knobs) was calibrated (by adjusting that trimmer by 50ohms) to offer +/-18dB of range, how would people prefer their model to be served? With 15 or 18 dB of range?
15 is more "authentic" to the original style, while 18 gives a bit more grunt.
2. Imagining one had a model of an EQ which is often wrongly acclaimed to be the "first" parametric EQ, which is shipped in two forms - one with +/-15dB continuous gain per band, and another "mastering" version, identical but for offering a mere +/-6dB per band, would there be uproar were I to offer the 15dB range for those that want it, in the knowledge that they can use the "range" slider to perfectly replicate the 6dB version?
Thanks,
Dave.
Edit: Regarding (1), I /could/ appropriate the "extra" control as a trimmer calibration, but I'm concerned it would seem extremely fiddly. I'll have a play with it, but I'd still like people's thoughts.
