Hi.. I have searched for a clear answer to this and am still confused. I get a bunch of midi files that I want to hack for their drum tracks. I also want to play with them, modify their instruments and stuff.

Well.. they load up fine, each on a separate track. How do I play them? Do I have to assign each a instrument? I got the Cakewalk SFZ plugin, and a couple of other VST's.. TX16.

I understand you have to load Soundfonts.. do you load the entire library? Won't this bog the computer's memory down?

I'd like to load a midi file, and have a GM midi set, and it is just recognized..with ONE plugin or VST. I am confused, all of this is new and I am having to read and read.

Yes.

That's your choice.

It depends on how much you load and how much your computer can handle.

When it's all new, it's normal you have to learn. Step by step you'll learn more and more 8)

If you only like to hear the drums put a vst like dr-fusion(free) on the track that plays on channel 10.

Thank you for the replies! My setup- I got my YouRock guitar so I have been downloading VST's and flailing away on it. It's really cool. Now I want to learn more. It's like you are drunk there is so much stuff. Like each jewel you find is more brilliant than the one before!
