^^^ This. The original acid house comes from Bollywood.

I saw Charanjit play twice last Saturday, and he's simply awesome.

Whike Charanjit's stuff is awesome, no doubt, I find it hard to think of it as 'acid' and it seems a bit naiive to me to call it that just because he used a 303 to produce a bass or accompaniment line in his tracks. He's using the 303 as a straight bassline machine which is more true to Roland's original intentions than the acid sensibility of approaching it as a wacky synthesizer which doesn't have to sound like anything.

At best, I'd call it borderline. Clearly the fact he's used slides and accents does lend a slightly acid vibe (but then, why wouldn't he use these features, Roland put them in to be used). It sounds more like a synthesized electric bass to me. Now I know acid doesn't need super resonant sounds or wild, mindless tweaking (that's just how I usually do it

) but it just doesn't feel right calling his works acid.

I agree in principal, but the way it sounds is acid, well to me it sound acidic...
