i still dont have a delay, which would you get for that echo like delay?

I've bought the Dubstation. It's simple, it sounds good, it is CPU-friendly -- that's all I need in some cases. If I want to make something super-extraordinary-special, I can use the Rob Papen Delay. Furthermore I have some good freeware delays for everything in between.

It depends on how much modulation you want to have.

DubStation is pretty much my go-to delay for that sort of thing. (Though arcDev ET-301 is also good.)

I didn't get into Dr. Device that much. Ricochet is probably good, but I haven't tried it.

Well I have Discord 3 and I like it, if I were to get another delay it would probably be one that was totally different from a different company. So I don't know how to answer your question.

dubstation does sounds pretty good in the demos. is it good for music other then dub. im looking for that spacy ambient sound that goes will with any kind of sound. if one were using this for pads, would that be a good fit?

"Spacy ambient sound" sounds more like if you'd need a reverb, in this case Eos by Audio Damage would be a better solution...

well, no. i already own valhalla room, but im looking for a delay for my reverb and ill be sending those two to my instrument tracks, which are pads, drones, ect.

not spacy as in space music, or full ambient music, but like you know, synthy music, as in jean michel jarre, klaus schulze, tangerine dream, ect.

If you want one effect that does a LOT, then Discord 3. It takes a bit to learn all the features and it doesn't have the greatest presets, but it does what you are asking. Got it for $39 and thought it was a steal.

Just picked up Dr. Device and it was pretty spacey out of the box. Adds a filter to the delay as well...

Yes, Dr. Device is great. It does everything Dubstation does plus more.

Discord3 is like a low budget harmonizer. I have it and use it a bit but I don't love it.

Fabfilter timeless 2 is great for everything from standard delays to intricate soundscapes. Will better on pads than dubstation due to its filtering & panning control.

PSP 608 Multitap delay can also produce some wonderful soundscapes with 8 delay taps and filtering as well as standard delay time.

Does Dr Device have the "loop" and "reverse" features like Dubstation ?
I couldn't see anything like that on the GUI.

Don't think it does but Ronin certainly does as well as BBD delay lines that are nicely modulatable so maybe their most versatile 'classic' delay. Richochet obviously has more taps but simpler routing etc, I'd go with rp-delay if you want more multitap options.

hmm... some kind of deja-vu for that question. But anyway...

...ther're so many delay plugs in VST heaven (I guess you need a VST?) which sound partially the same and partially unique that you have to check yourself what fits your needs and your moneybag. Beside the already mentioned two others come to my mind:

U-HE MFM2 (uhhh... i shouldn't say that.... :-o )
or my REFLEX PRO

Both somehow addicted to that dedicated use.
