Loading Dimension Pro Sounds Into Alchemy???

I am not sure if Alchemy reads sfz. If it does, you should be able to just load them in.
If not, use something like ESC (Extreme Sample Converter) to convert to a format like wav files or something Alchemy can read.

Can I import Soundfonts (SF2) or WusikStation files into Alchemy?
The only available formats for import in Alchemy are SFZ, WAV and AIFF. If you need to import other formats, you will need to convert it to SFZ with such applications as:

Yes, it's possible if you have the latest Alchemy v1.12.22 update installed - it won't work with previous versions unless you modify the SFZ files. The full SFZ spec is pretty huge and is not fully supported by Alchemy (yet ...), but you should find the samples will load from the SFZ files, you can play the instruments and mangle the sounds.
To do this use the Import Audio browser, and browse to:
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\...
(or wherever your Dimension Pro library is installed)
For some SFZ files Alchemy will display a dialog asking where the audio files are - this is usually because the SFZ references the files via the default_path op code or using relative paths. Browsing for the correct folder should allow you to continue loading the samples. The Dimension Pro library is quite large, so I've not tested all of it but most files seem to load without any major problems.
We've just started internal testing of the next update which will, if all goes well, include some pretty significant improvements to SFZ support so this process should be a lot smoother soon.

now that dimension is on sale figured Id resurrect this one. Will alchemy read FLAC? It looks like they compressed all their sample libs down to flac and I tried loading one or two and it wouldnt work
Also in windows can I just create a link to the dimpro samples dir inside the alchemy samples dir? Cause I tried that and it doesnt show up under the 'load audio' menu

This is possible using Vista or later by creating a "Junction Point" in the Alchemy/Samples folder that points to the folder containing the samples. ahh right, figured Id have to use the real symlink/junction and not their windows links, had to do this for ableton as well to see my geist samples in the library

Just be careful about linking to folders containing huge number of samples - it can slow the GUI opening times if there are too many.
