This is SO annoying. Finally got some great synthesis and now I can't use it because after every 8 bars, the master fm8 volume drops. Then after 8 bars it goes back up again... If anyone could offer me some advice I would really appreciate it. this is no bueno :help:

Which version? Which daw?

does not do that here...
Finally!

sounds like recorded automation buried somewhere in the DAW.
I do that all the time in FL.

Naww It's been doing this for a while now. Not sure the version. Maybe I need to make sure the lfos are resetting on a key press. How do I do that?

Post

Anyone? this is really a pain

Post

Does it happen in a fresh project ?
Does it happen in more than 1 DAW ?
What about the standalone version ?

Did it do that when you first got it? I do hate to be the one to ask this, but I see you are new to the forum: Is it a paid, registered copy? I'm not sure how NI does it, but a lot of devs release demo copies that drop sound every few measures or seconds.

Beyond that, any other options have already been asked. Acid Mitch might be on to something as well. Have you had this problem with any other instruments?

NI demos are fully functional, but close after 30 mins. No noise, no dropouts.

My guess would be also LFO doing its thing. Did you make the patch on your own so you can be truly sure what's going on with it?

Post

Does this happen with all presets? (Turn off all of the LFO's in FM8 to see if this fixes it.)

Does it happen only while your DAW sequencer is not running? (If it happens only when its running, check all of your midi data to see if some automation is causing the issue, as ouroboros said).

As emotica said, NI demos don't have sound dropouts - they just time out.

Good luck.
